Common garden terms you will hear or read about when dealing with nurseries and garden plants. This list is by no means a complete collection of horticultural techniques and terms.
Q Garden Terminologyquarentine: Isolating an item to prevent the spread of infection, disease or insect infestation. Quarantines can be issued between neighboring counties, between states or country wide.quarentine laws: Federal laws to prevent the importation and exportation of contaminated soil, plants, planted containers and products made using plant material to prevent infestations from spreading. quick test: The soil pH kits that you buy in the store. They give approximate ranges of nutrients in the soil. Professional labs give a very detailed report of all macro and micro nutrients in the soil. quick acting fertilizer: Fertilizer that is absorbed into the plant within a short time so it can start working. Most liquid spray fertilizers are quick acting, granular fertilizers tend to be slow acting.
